Who is The National Aircraft Appraisers Association (NAAA)?

NAAA Interesting Facts:

Since 1979,  the NAAA has been the industry leader in developing Certified Aircraft Appraisals.  They have been and remain the only organization which has a standardized method of evaluating aircraft and the only organization who has Certified Aircraft Appraisers throughout the nation evaluating aircraft using this established criteria.  The NAAA continues to be the largest and oldest organization which is focused exclusively on the evaluation and documentation of aircraft.

Remember how difficult it was back in the 1980's to get a bank to approve an aircraft loan?  One practically had to have a member of the family sitting on the Loan Committee in order to get an aircraft loan approved. Today, thanks to NAAA reports, loans are readily performed throughout the nation and a very high percentage of those loans require a Certified Aircraft Appraisal that can only be provided by the NAAA and its Certified Aircraft Appraisers.  This is mainly because NAAA Certified Aircraft Appraisal Reports meet the intent of the FDIC documenting the proof of collateral for aircraft related loans.

Additionally many state and federal government agencies use NAAA Appraisals for aircraft value and condition substantiation.  For example the NAAA has a written agreement with US Customs and has been operating under a Blank Purchase Agreement for over 13 years. Also, the IRS requires a Certified Aircraft Appraisal for all aircraft donated and the NAAA is the only organization able to comply with the IRS’s requirement for a Certified Aircraft Appraisal Report on a nationwide basis.

The NAAA also has an impressive track record within the state and federal court systems which no other company or organization can claim. That is since 1979, out of hundreds of appraisals used in legal proceedings, there has been only one incident where an NAAA Certified Report was not accepted.  For this reason NAAA appraisers have become the appraiser of choice in court cases. Another area of significant growth over the past few years are appraisals being performed for persons buying and selling aircraft.  It makes sense for a potential buyer to have the aircraft appraised before making the decision to spend $1,000 or more for an airline ticket and two days of their time to find out the aircraft is unsuitable.

In 2005, the NAAA showed its leadership by certifying members to also provide Appraisal Reports which follow USPAP Guidelines.  The NAAA is the only organization in the country that provides customers with at choice of NAAA Standard Reports or USPAP Aircraft Appraisal Reports.

When you look at the facts, it just makes sense to have an aircraft professionally appraised by an NAAA Member - such as Mike Simmons.  Otherwise, you really don't know what the aircraft is worth.
