The Preliminary Title Search is normally the first step in any aircraft transaction.  A complete search of all FAA records is initiated and all prior titles, adverse interests, liens and claims to the subject aircraft are identified and interpreted.  The title search also contains an evaluation of risk.

About 20% - 30% of all aircraft titles are clouded in some respect.  In situations where the title is clouded, assistance can be obtained in locating the parties involved and acquiring the necessary documentation to clear the cloud in the aircraft file.
